At the top of the "Restore Files" dialog is a section where you specify the name of the file you want to restore:

1) By location

2) By name

 

 

Finding a file by location

 

Most times you will know where the data file is that you want restored.

 

• Click the "Select file to be restored..." button:

 

 

 

• A dialog will pop up where you can navigate to the location and name of the file you were working on:

 

 

 

• Select the file and click on "Open"
• The name of the file (in our example "recipes.txt") will be displayed and the found versions of the file will be listed below that:

 

 

 

 

• In our example, there are only two saved versions of "recipes.txt". Normally there will be many versions of any file. They will always be displayed in reverse date order, with the most recently saved version at the top of the list.

 

 

Finding a file by name

 

Sometimes you may want to find a file that was worked on in more than one directory, or you now the name of a file, but not the directory in which it was located. The "Search" button will help you find the file.

 

• Enter the name of the file just below the "Search" button. 
• You can also enter part of the name if you can't remember the exact name.
• Searching is done a drive at a time, so you may alos want to click the "Change " button to choose a new search drive.

 

 

• Then click the Search button
• The found versions of the file and the directories they were found in will be listed in reverse date order, with the most recently daved version for any directory at the top of its list.
