These are the instructions for how to specify a different directory for Version Saver to store its backed up files in.

 

These instructions are the same whether you are  changing the directory from the main Version Saver screen, or from Page 2 of the Setup Wizard.

 

After clicking on the "Choose..." button to choose a different directory, this dialog pops up:

 

 

 

• You can use the dropdown list labelled "Drive" to choose a new drive. 
• We recomend NOT using drive C, as backups can take up a lot of disc space, and using large amounts of disc space on drive c can slow down your computer performance. Better to use another drive.
• In the list of directories, double-click the mouse on a directory both to choose it, and to expand and contract it.
• The directory you have chosen appears in the box labelled "Chosen directory". For example below, we have chosen from the list the already existing directory "My Backups".

 

 

• The directory you have chosen appears in the box labelled "Chosen directory". You can also append a new subdirectory name in this box. For example below, we have chosen from the list the already existing directory "My Backups" and in the box below it we have typed on the subdirectory "\VersionSaver":

 

 

• If you are happy with you choice, click on OK. Or click Cancel to discard your choice
• If you typed in a new name, for a directory that doesn't exist yet, the software will prompt whether you wish to create the directory. 

 

 

 

• If you answer No, you will be able to type in another directory name
• If you answer Yes, you will be returned to the main page with you choice now written in
