Version Saver is not one of those programs that save data to obscure, encrypted or compressed archives.  We think an important aspect of a data backup strategy is that users should be able to retrieve their saved data easily, even if they have lost the original backup software.

 

Version Saver saves its data in a simple directory tree.

 

• The top level of the tree is the directory you specified for main or full backups.
• The next level of the tree is the word "drive" foillowed by the letter of the drive the file was saved from, e.g. "drivec" for files saved from drive C, drived for files saved from drive D, and so on.
• The next level is the actual directory tree from the drive where the original file was situated:

This backup directory contains files backed up from the directory "\word docs\main" on drive F:
